Client data management in a single up-to-date system

Puritas develops client data, customer due diligence (CDD) and risk software for fund administrators, corporate service providers, and private wealth firms. Its client data and CDD platform, PureClient, centralises every client, entity, and beneficial owner into a single up-to-date system, so the same information never has to be checked, corrected, and maintained across multiple systems.

The platform manages complex ownership structures across multiple jurisdictions, identifies duplicates for reconciliation, and screens clients against sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) lists automatically through integrated screening services.

It captures a complete audit trail of every change, generated by the record itself rather than reconstructed for an audit. PureClient is used by firms across the UK, Ireland, and key international and offshore jurisdictions including Luxembourg, South Africa, Jersey, Guernsey, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands.

THE PROBLEM

The reality of fragmented client data

Most firms managing complex client books have client data spread across half a dozen systems: an old CRM, a CDD platform, a transfer agency system, a corporate registry, and spreadsheets filling the gaps between them. Each system holds part of the truth about a client, but none of them holds it all. When a change is made in one place, it isn’t reflected elsewhere.

The cost is everywhere. The same client gets onboarded twice because nobody can see they already exist in another system. Periodic reviews are run against out-of-date addresses. Beneficial ownership structures live in someone’s head, or in a diagram from three years ago. When a client restructures, working out which records need updating becomes is a project in itself.

And underneath it all, every compliance, reporting, and review process inherits the same data quality issues. CDD becomes harder than it should be. Audit trails are reconstructed rather than produced from the record itself. Regulatory reporting takes longer because the data needs to be cleaned and validated before submission.

None of it reflects how the team works. It reflects what happens when client data was never brought together in the first place.

THE APPROACH

How PureClient brings it together

Our client data and CDD software, PureClient, brings every client, entity, and beneficial owner into one current system. The platform identifies duplicate and inconsistent records during onboarding and as part of ongoing remediation, with a complete audit trail of every reconciliation.

The platform handles the kind of structures that traditional client management systems struggle to support. Holding companies, complex ownership chains, multi-jurisdictional beneficial ownership, and changes over time are all maintained as connected data within a single system.

Structure diagrams visualise the underlying relationships rather than replacing the data behind them. Sanctions and PEP screening is performed automatically through integrated screening services, with each result recorded against the client record.

From that single source, every downstream process draws from the same trusted data. CDD, periodic reviews, FATCA and CRS reporting, and onboarding all rely on the same client record. When that record is accurate and complete, teams spend less time correcting data and more time running consistent, efficient, and auditable processes.

What PureClient covers

A single record per client, entity, & beneficial owner

All entities in the structure are maintained in one current system, with a complete audit trail of changes. The same information never has to be checked and corrected in multiple places, and a change made once is reflected everywhere its needed.

Complex ownership structures, captured as data

Holding companies, ownership hierarchies, and beneficial-owner relationships are all maintained within a single application. The full structure can be visualised through structure diagrams, reported on and exported as required.

Duplicates flagged and reconciled

PureClient identifies duplicates and inconsistencies in client records, during onboarding and as part of ongoing remediation. Data quality issues are addressed once at the source record rather than corrected repeatedly across CDD, registry, and reporting tools.

Automated sanctions & PEP screening

PureClient screens client records against sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) lists through integrated screening services, both at onboarding and on an ongoing basis. New matches generate alerts on the record, with results captured automatically.

A clean feed into every downstream process

CDD, periodic review, FATCA and CRS reporting, and onboarding all draw from the same canonical client record. Because the underlying data is already accurate and complete, these processes can start without the usual effort of verifying information.

Maker-checker control & full audit history

Every change to a client record passes through a four-eyes maker–checker workflow before it becomes live. The system records changes, screening results, and decisions automatically as work is completed, creating a complete audit trail. When a regulator or auditor asks who changed what and when, the answer comes directly from the record.

Common questions

PureClient holds the full structure as data. Holding companies, complex ownership chains, and multi-jurisdictional beneficial ownership all sit within a single database, with a complete audit trail of changes over time. The hierarchy is visible through structure diagrams and exportable through reports, rather than manually reconstructed from documents.

Yes. PureClient identifies duplicates and inconsistencies in client records and supports their reconciliation, with the full audit trail captured by the platform. During migration from legacy systems or acquisitions, this analysis runs against imported data, so duplicate and inconsistent records are cleansed as part of the migration rather than carried into the new platform.

PureClient runs sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) screening against client records through integrated screening services, not only at onboarding. New matches generate alerts on the record itself, and the screening history sits with the client rather than as a separate report.

All compliance, reporting, and review processes draw from the same canonical client record. CDD is applied to that record, periodic reviews are scheduled against it, FATCA and CRS reporting is produced from it, and investor onboarding uses the same data. The data cleanup and validation work that usually has to be repeated before each process has already been done.
